Different Stages Of Cancer And How To Diagnose Them
When diagnosed, cancer is defined with a stage. The stage represents the condition of the ailment a patient is suffering from. As per the expert oncologists of Max Healthcare, the leading cancer hospital in Delhi, the stages of cancer are defined as follows.
● Stage 0
The abnormal cells have been detected in a system of a patient. These cells are not showing any symptoms that can be concluded as cancer but the cells have the potential to develop into one.
● Stage I
This stage is referred to as the condition where cancer has been witnessed in a small area and has not started to spread in size yet. It is an early stage that can be handled depending on the condition of a patient.
● Stage II and Stage III
These two stages define a larger distribution of cancer in the affected areas and the nearby tissues and/or lymph nodes. This shows progression in detected cancer.
● Stage IV
Stage IV is considered to be very serious as detected cancer has spread to different organs and tissues of a patient. It is also termed as metastatic or advanced cancer.
As per the oncologists of a cancer hospital in Delhi, the Roman numerals are used to define the severity of the cancer condition.
