Leukemia Cancer - Everything You Need To Know Of It

Leukemia is cancer that occurs in the blood-forming tissues which include the bone marrow as well as the lymphatic system.   • Chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) affects adults and will have few or no symptoms for months or years until it grows more rapidly.
  • Other than the above, leukemia of hairy cell leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative disorders also occur.


Treatment:

The blood cancer treatment depends on the type of leukemia you have, how healthy you are and how far it has spread. In general, the treatments offered are chemotherapy, radiation, biologic therapy, targeted therapy, stem cell transplant and surgery.
